Screenwriter and co-producer Brandon Roberts began writing MY SUMMER AS A GOTH in March 2009 in a tiny, sweltering apartment in Hollywood’s Beachwood Canyon in a complex that used to house Paramount studio writers in the 1940s. After the magic of seeing the Hollywood sign every day for 6 years eventually wore off, Roberts returned to his beloved home state of Oregon and decided to start a filmmaking career in Portland. He joined forces with co-producer and high school best friend Tara Johnson-Medinger in August 2009 and thus Team Goth was born. Roberts’s first script, IN THE MORNING GLORY, was a Sundance Screenplay Competition and Scriptapalooza Screenplay Competition Semi-Finalist (top 10) in 2001.
